Creative and Creativity
Another weekly update from Ben the Illustrator
First up, I fully realise this is my second weekly update this week, because last week’s was late, this is this week’s actual update, and who’s counting anyway?
Creative Booming
This week’s highlight was getting an article on Creative Boom! I had a chat with Garrick Webster about all things illustration, past, present and future. Madly Garrick interviewed me maybe 20 years ago, back in the Computer Arts Magazine days (RIP an absolute legend of UK graphic arts).
If you fancy a read or even want to share it, here’s your golden (not actually golden) button…
Creativity and Community
I’ve been with Terrestrial for a few years now, a local group that produce community arts adventures in the South West of England. Always focused on creativity and community. Here’s a little update of recent illustrations for them, in my Ben Draws style…

Any other business?
Pretty short update this week, I feel like I waffled a lot in the previous one, and the figures were pretty low, so let’s keep this short and sweet, but one music recommendation… Ben Kidson, I’ve been listening to Ben for a while, mostly because I like the low-slung vibe of his Instagram videos, sitting on the tube, but he seems to be an artist finding his voice, his earlier songs verged on pop-punk, but now he’s calmed and creates this lovely low-slung spoken word chil tunes. He just released a (short) album, ‘Somewhere between asleep and awake’.
Enjoy!
